Storage

How to use a mushroom substrate kit: instructions
Phase 1 – Prepare the liquid culture
Wash your hands and clean the work area! .
- Shake the spore bottle or syringe well to make sure all the spores float.
- Disinfect the liquid culture injection site and spore vial or syringe with the alcohol swab.
- Inject 2 ml of spore solution into the liquid culture
Shake the inoculated liquid culture vigorously once a day every day for 10 days. Store the inoculated liquid culture in a place between 23 and 27 degrees Celsius. The liquid culture is ready when you see a cloud floating in the suspension. It’s mycelium…
Your liquid culture is ready, it is called the master culture, if used and stored correctly you can have a lot of mycelium from just a few spores.
Important!
- If the liquid is cloudy, it means there is contamination and the culture is unusable.
- If you do not use the liquid culture for 10 days, store it in the refrigerator
Phase 2 – Inoculation
Step 1
- Wash your hands and clean your workspace
- Clean the injection site of the sterilized substrate and liquid culture
Step 2
- Remove 10 ml (1200 CC kit) or 10 ml (2100 CC kit) from the liquid culture
- Inject the spore suspension, through the injection site of the kit
Step 3
- After inoculation, turn and shake the box 360 degrees in all directions
- store the kit in a dark place with a temperature between 23° and 27°C
Result:
After inoculation, you will see mycelium forming. A white mushroom will gradually fill the sterilized substrate. This may take up to 2-3 weeks depending on temperature.
Phase 3 – Collecting fruits and spores
Please note that fruit mushrooms may be banned in your country. Always check local regulations before beginning this step. When the substrate is completely colonized, it is time to harvest the spores or mycelium for further study or cultivation.
